AEC INC. was founded in 1984 by Ernie and Rosemary Brache as a privately held, Oregon-based, avionics engineering and consulting company. In addition to having over 35 years of technical and engineering experience on fixed and rotor-wing aircraft, Ernie is an FAA DER, ensuring AEC is kept up to date on regulatory matters and changes in the aerospace industry. The company has been certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) by the Small Business Administration.

In 1991, AEC added aircraft technical publications and certification support packages to its avionics engineering and consulting services. The company’s uncompromising standards for quality and accuracy resulted in ever increasing demands for its technical publications. In 1994, AEC dropped its engineering and consulting services and has since focused exclusively in offering technical publications to the aerospace industry. The company further expanded its technical writing expertise in early 2003 by developing and publishing yacht Owner’s and Captain’s Manuals for the Marine Industry.

What started over 20 years ago as a small, family-based business is now a company of over 70 highly specialized and dedicated employees. Under Ernie’s steady leadership as President, AEC has grown not only in size; we have established a reputation for excellence, been recognized as an industry leader, and built long lasting customer relationships.
